The fine print

Rules

Everything that governs buying pixels, bidding, and what you can put on the grid. Pricing and outbid math are exact — those come from the same code that runs at checkout. Content rules are written for humans; moderation is manual review by a real person before your block goes live.

Purchasing pixels

Minimum purchase

You can buy as little as one grid unit (10×10 pixels) for $100. There is no maximum block size, but a single purchase cannot exceed the full grid (1,000×1,000 pixels = $1,000,000).

Initial pixel pricing

Untouched grid units start at $100. There is no auction for the first buyer of a unit — they pay $100 and own it outright until outbid.

Block ownership terminology

A "block" is the rectangular region of pixels you have purchased. Blocks are owned by the advertiser account that paid for them. Ownership can transfer between accounts only via the 5% outbid rule — there is no manual transfer feature.

Outbidding and reclaiming

5% outbid requirement

To take over a block that is already owned, the new bid must be at least 5% higher than the current owner's most recent payment for that block. The 5% is calculated on the integer-cent value — no rounding tricks to sneak under it.

Previous spend credit

When you outbid a block, your new minimum bid is 5% over the previous owner's total. The previous owner's full payment is forfeit — they are not refunded the difference. This is the reclaim mechanic that drives the recurring revenue.

No refunds for exposure already received

If your block is outbid, you do not get any money back. The exposure your block generated for you while it was live is yours to keep. Outbidding is part of the marketplace.

What you can advertise

URL requirements

Your URL must use HTTPS, resolve to a live page, and match the brand or product the image advertises. We will reject redirects that point to a different destination than the image implies.

Image requirements

Images render at 10×10 pixels per grid unit. Keep type large enough to read at that scale. Allowed formats: PNG, JPEG, GIF (first frame), WebP. Maximum file size applies — see the buy page for the current limit.

Advertising rules

Advertising links use rel="sponsored" on every outbound link from the grid, in line with search engine guidelines. Buying pixels provides advertising exposure, traffic, and placement — not SEO link equity.

Moderation and prohibited content

Brand impersonation

Blocks cannot impersonate, parody, or imply endorsement by a third-party brand. Every URL is checked against a list of ~200 protected brands (the world's most recognised names) plus common crypto and sports-team terms. If your URL mentions one, your block is held for manual review.

Prohibited content

We will not publish blocks advertising: illegal goods or services, malware or phishing, adult content, gambling services not licensed in the visitor's jurisdiction, regulated substances, weapons, or anything that breaches UK advertising rules. We also reject content that is defamatory, harassing, or that incites violence.

Moderation process

Every new block and every URL change is reviewed by a human before going live. We aim to review within 24 hours but reserve the right to take longer. You will be emailed when your block is approved, rejected, or held for clarification.

Payments and operations

Chargebacks

If you charge back a payment after your block has gone live, your block is removed immediately and your account is suspended. Repeated chargebacks result in a permanent ban. We treat chargebacks as fraud by default.

Suspensions

We can suspend any block or advertiser account at any time, with or without notice, if we have reason to believe the content breaches these rules, breaches the law, or exposes us to liability. Suspended accounts lose access to the advertiser area but outstanding legitimate refunds (if any) are processed.

Advertiser responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of your URL, image, and the destination page those point to. If your destination page changes after launch and starts breaching these rules, your block can be removed even if it was approved originally.

Right to remove dangerous or illegal content

We will remove any block without notice if a court or regulator orders it, if we receive a credible report that it is hosting malware or phishing, or if we discover it is being used for fraud. We do not need to warn the advertiser first in these cases.
